Through the College of Education, future teachers receive professional training in the history of schooling, how children learn, how to teach and how to manage a classroom effectively. They take part in a variety of field experiences in Southern Arizona schools, and finally, complete a semester of student teaching. During this semester, practice and theory come together as the student assumes responsibility for a classroom under the guidance of the college and the participating school.
If you are considering a career in teaching, contact an advisor in the College's Office of Admissions, Advising & Student Services as soon as possible for help on selecting appropriate coursework.
