Doctor of Education, Ed.D.

The Ed.D. degree prepares individuals to become reflective professionals in literacy studies in conjunction with policymaking, instructional practice and educational leadership. These professionals will be able to define problems related to language and develop solutions, assess language arts curricula, implement curriculum change, conduct large-scale reading and writing evaluations and supervise federal programs in reading and bilingual education. This program requires a minimum of 72 units, including major core, 6 units of supervised field experience, 6 units of doctoral seminars and a dissertation.
