Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D.

The Ph.D. degree prepares individuals to pursue research and scholarly careers in literacy studies in conjunction with psychology, linguistics, anthropology and other disciplines and how they relate to literacy, particularly in educational settings. This program requires a minimum of 72 units of coursework, including major core, 15 units of research experience, 6 units of research internships, 6 units of doctoral seminars and a dissertation which contributes to research in the field.
