The current estimated cost of undergraduate tuition at The University of Arizona is $5,542 for residents and $18,676 for non-residents (subject to change). Factor in room and board, books, supplies, travel, and miscellaneous expenses, and total costs could greatly increase. So what can you do to pay for college?
Start by visiting the web site of the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships. There you will find a financial aid estimator, information about the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), links to outside scholarship searches, and much more.
TEACH Grants
The newly established Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program will be effective beginning July 1, 2008. The TEACH Grant is awarded by UA to students who are completing, or intend to complete, coursework to begin a career in teaching and who agree to serve for a minimum of four years as a full-time, highly-qualified, high-need field teacher in a low-income school.

National Merit Scholars
Incoming undergraduate CoE students who qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program, National Hispanic Recognition Program, or National Achievement Scholarship Program are eligible for a College of Education Thelma Hadlock Scholarship worth $2,500. Hadlock recipients must maintain progress toward a degree program in the College of Education and remain in the Honors College to renew the award for three additional years of study. Hadlock awards may also be offered to other top education students in the Honors College, depending on available funds. The Hadlock Scholarship is given in addition to any merit awards provided by the University.
The Thelma Hadlock Scholarship has the highest award amount of any UA college-based scholarship given to National Scholars.College of Education Scholarships
The College of Education offers scholarships to UA juniors and seniors/post-baccalaureate students who have been admitted to a teacher preparation program. Applying is easy; you only need to fill out one application to be considered for multiple scholarship awards! Applications are due by April 14, 2008 for the 2008-2009 academic year.
